「スリット スカート」というものは隠す部分がある一方で肉体を露出する場所もあり、見てほしい部分と見られたくない部分を脚の付け根まで深くカットすることで表すことができる。人間関係の中にも類似したものが存在する。

 

「スリット スカート」に含まれるほとんどの写真はフラッシュを使用して撮影している。被写体は友人知人ではなく、街で知らない人を唐突に撮る。その際、盗撮ではなく、撮影対象と視線を合わせるような攻撃性のある行為になるよう試みている。フラッシュを使用すると、相手がこちらに気づいた時、被害者の視線によって、撮影者である私の方が緊張したり、不安を感じたりする。ある意味で、その瞬間私は加害者から被害者の側に転じていると言えるかもしれない。

　

フラッシュを使うことで瞬間的な相手の反応や表情が写真に記録され、私に対する心の距離を測ることができる。ストロボを使って撮影することが鍵となり、髪から、指から相手の個人空間に入れると考える。

​ここで、自作品における人間関係を述べるにあたり、人と人距離感を測るという概念が人類心理学において、実際の制作では関係性のイメージを様々に可視化する非日常なシリーズを撮影しょうと考える。

The concept of "Slit Skirt" involves both concealing certain parts while exposing others, representing the desire to show and hide specific aspects by deeply cutting into the fabric up to the base of the legs. A similar dynamic exists within human relationships.

Most of the photographs within "Slit Skirt" are taken using a flash. The subjects are not friends or acquaintances but rather strangers captured abruptly on the streets. In this process, I attempt to create an act that is assertive and engages with the subject, rather than being surreptitious. When using a flash, the moment the person notices and their gaze meets mine, I, as the photographer, may feel tension or anxiety, almost transitioning from an aggressor to a victim in that moment.

Using a flash allows me to capture the instantaneous reactions and expressions of the subjects in the photographs, enabling me to gauge the emotional distance towards me. The use of a strobe becomes crucial, aiming to intrude into the personal space of the subject, from their hair to their fingertips.

In discussing human relationships within my artwork, I contemplate the concept of measuring the psychological distance between individuals—a notion found in the field of human psychology. This consideration has led me to envision a series of unconventional works that visualize various aspects of relationships through the act of measuring proximity in non-traditional ways.
