THE illusion OF EMOTION

This work is based on the previous series "MONKEYS".

Artificial reflective material is applied to the surface of monkey footprints made by hand, placed in the forest to form a guiding path. In other words, it uses the unfolding actions of animals through traces as a starting point, prompting humans to enter the forest in search of monkeys.

Reflective silver sheets cover the entire outer surface of a cabin, concealing the cabin itself.

Visitors are also captured by these silver sheets, turning them into makeshift surveillance cameras reflecting themselves.

However, looking inside the cabin is risky, as hanging threads are woven into a net, and the tips of branches are shaped into sharp weapons.

Everything converges toward the center, and looking inside through the window reveals the faces of the viewers.

Originally, the humans who are the capturers become the targets inside this cabin.

In a sense, this cabin is a trap designed to hunt and capture humans.

On the tips of the sharpened branches inside the cabin, there were originally supposed to be posters scattered around saying "Looking for monkeys."

Is this trap, armed with weapons, built by humans to capture monkeys? Or is it built by monkeys to capture humans?

Until the outcome of the hunt becomes clear,

it is unknown which side is dominant.
